Before Lysander Holidays became Lysander Holidays, it was a one woman army. Yes, Our founder Megh had a great passion for travelling solo, being a true Bengali, how could she not follow the Ekla Chalo Re tune by Rabindranath Tagore?

Starting from booking tickets to planning the itinerary, she loved to tick all the boxes and do everything on her own. Once, a senior citizen couple who were travelling along with her observed her passion for travelling alone and were impressed by the way she had planned the trip. They encouraged her to kickstart an independent business of her own and help many people like them to enjoy a perfect holiday without worrying about the nitty-gritty of the process. As a strong and independent woman herself she looked for a name that truly resonated with her vibe, and there she stopped at the word ‘Lysander’ which means liberator in Greek. Travelling to a new place always liberates our body and mind from a tired and hectic life, isn’t it? After finalising the name for her company, she never looked back, not even a pandemic like CORONA could dull her passion for travelling by an inch. After the pandemic, she successfully led her first international group tour to Kenya, which is still her personal favourite to this day – a standout moment in her travel diaries.
